Richardson, Texas --Air Systems Components, (ASC) Richardson, Texas has announced that the Titus brand has been awarded ISO-90012000 certification. Titus (Richardson, Texas) is one of the group of ASCD companies which collectively represent the largest manufacturer of air handling components in North America supplying the HVAC market. Focused on the commercial and industrial markets, Titus manufacturers grilles, registers, diffusers, fan coils and variable air volume equipment.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s largest developer of standards, incorporating a network of national standards institutes in 146 countries. These standards contribute to making the development, manufacturing and supply of products and services cleaner, safer and more efficient. While tracing its’ roots to 1926, the ISO organization in it’s present form began operations in 1947. The standards apply uniformly to companies in any industry and of any size. ISO 9001 applies to industries involved in the design and development, manufacturing, installation and servicing of products. The ISO certification process ensures on-going compliance to standards of performance because, once certified, companies are externally audited every six months for continuous execution of the standards.

The familiar three standards (ISO 9001; ISO 9002 and ISO 9003) were recently integrated into the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. It is now the only standard in the ISO 9000 family against whose requirements a company’s quality system can be certified by an external agency. Managerial, engineering and customer service systems of Titus were those identified for process implementation and certification.

"ISO registration supports our pursuit of continuous improvement and an on-going commitment to provide our customers assurance of product quality", said Terry O’Halloran, President of ASC. "Our success in achieving this goal is due to the tremendous dedication and teamwork of our employees”. Future plans for the company in the area of ISO include expansion of certification to all production facilities and the Titus Product Development Laboratory.

Don Titus formed the company in Waterloo, Iowa in 1946. Today, Titus is a recognized leader in the air distribution segment of the commercial HVAC industry. Titus products can be found in numerous prestigious projects worldwide, including the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, the Bank of China in Beijing and the International Space Station.
