DynaFuser Saves Energy During the Heating Cycle
DynaFuser is a patent pending linear slot diffuser powered by the temperature of the supply air. Pattern controllers automatically change to the correct position in both heating and cooling applications.
The DynaFuser not only increases the comfort level by correctly discharging supply air in both heating and cooling modes, it does so without the use of an internal or external power source which translates to energy savings for the building owner. When 100% of the supply air is utilized, the room temperature reaches the set-point faster requiring the HVAC system to run for a shorter duration of time, which saves energy. In fact, preliminary lab tests indicate energy savings to be as high as 30%, which can help achieve the LEED-NC 2.2, Optimize Energy Performance credit.
Lab tests showed that the DynaFuser can achieve an average room temperature of 72oF in 13 minutes, while a diffuser set up in the typical split flow position was never able to achieve setpoint in the room. In addition, by directing 100% of the airflow to where it needs t be, downward in the heating mode, the DynaFuser room test had over 3oF lower return temperature, equating to a 26.5% reduction in energy loss from the space.
